This book gives a great overview of the major figures of the hippie era. The flavor of the book is enhanced with first-hand interviews of people who lived through this era and have since reflected on how it changed and shaped their lives. Finally, the hippie era is placed into a context of American history as a whole, so we can see how this important and revolutionary time set the stage for people to think differently about themselves as individuals and as a part of the world. A great read!
